| Q.I
have a counter current protein skimmer and wanted to know what
type of wood the airstone was made of? Thanks, RD.
|
| A.
Airstones
can be made with limewood or basswood. If you are handy, cut
the wood 1" thick and 2 or 3" in length, whatever
your preference. |

One
week ago I put a yellow tang in my tank, now all my fish have
ich. I want to dose copper. How should I dose it? |
| A.
What
you can do is add it slowly. Add 1/4 of the recommended dosage
test for ammonia. If zero, wait a few days then add some more
till you reach a level of .15-.20 meg/l. Leave at this level
for three weeks. |

Q.
After
6 months my skimmer doesn't seem to be skimming like it use
too. I use to get 1 cup of dirty smelly water per week
now I get very little, which has me worried. Skimmed in
Jersey.

A.
Make
sure your skimmer has been recently cleaned . Check salt levels,
too low salt will not produce dry foam. Check for ammonia.
If all your inhabitants look healthy the skimmer most
likely skimmed everything out out of the tank resulting in
less waste.
