Q. How do I add fish correctly?

A. The safest way to introduce fish to your tank is to use the drip method. Once you get the fish, float the bag in your tank for 20 minutes to make sure the temperature is the same as your tank temperature. Then gently pour the water and fish into a small bucket. Place an airline tube from the aquarium to the bucket and drip water from the tank so you have a very fine stream of water coming from the airline tubing. Let the water drip in this manner for 1 hour. Remove excess water whenever it is 3 inches above the fish. After the hour is up, gently remove the fish with a small container or wet hands and place in the aquarium.
Q. Can I add fish at anytime?

A. No, the tank has to be stable. You should try to add new fish when the lights are off or temporarily rearrange your decorations. This will disorient the current fish and they will less likely defend their territories against the newcomers.
